Gin and Vodka Infusions

Making the perfect summer cocktail requires the perfectly flavored alcohols. Use this method for gin and vodka infusions to create great patio cocktails!

For the Simple Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water

For the Infusion:

  • 750 ml of either vodka or gin
  • 1 cup simple syrup
  • handful of flavoring of your choice

For the Simple Syrup:

  1. Add sugar and water to a small saucepan and heat.
  2. Bring to a boil until all sugar has dissolved into the liquid and remove from heat.
  3. Let cool completely.

For the Infusions:

  1. Add alcohol, simple syrup, and flavorings to an airtight container and seal.  Shake the container to combine all of the ingredients.
  2. Store in a dark space for 5 to 7 days.  You may need more time if the flavorings have a milder taste.
  3. Check on the containers and give a shake every few days.
  4. Once the infusions are ready, pour the liquid into a bowl over a strainer.  This is important because you want to remove any of the flavorings that may impact the flavor over time.
  5. Store in an airtight container away from light for up 6 months.
