Homemade Yam Fries with Aioli

These homemade yam fries with aioli are the perfect game day snack. They are easy to share, and are healthier since they are baked not fried!

For the Yam Fries:

  • 12oz yam, peeled and sliced into strips (1 medium)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and pepper, to taste

For the Aioli:

  • 2 tbsp half-fat mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp non-fat plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp fresh tarragon, chopped

  1. Preheat oven to 400F.  Toss the yam slices, olive oil, and spices in a large mixing bowl until evenly combined.  Spread onto a parchment lined baking sheet, without touching.
  2. Bake for 20 minutes and toss.  Bake for another 15 to 20 minutes, until the fries start to crisp on the edges and are tender on the inside.
  3. While the yam fries bake, mix the aioli ingredients until well combined.  Let the yam fries cool for a few minutes.  Serve with the aioli and enjoy!
