How to Make the Best Easy Blackened Chicken

- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp Kosher salt
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 4 tsp olive oil
- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, halved and beaten to even thickness
- In a small to medium sized bowl, whisk together the spices and olive oil until evenly combined. Add the chicken and toss until well coated. Heat a large non-stick skillet on medium-high heat for up to five minutes until extremely hot. DO NOT add any oil to the pan at this time.
- Once the pan is very hot, add the chicken. Do not move the chicken in the pan and let cook for 3 to 5 minutes, until well seared. Flip and repeat on the other side. Once chicken is cooked through and the thickest part of the chicken reads 165F with a meat thermometer, turn heat off and remove from the pan. Serve with lime wedges and your favorite sides - enjoy!
