Easy Glazed Easter Ham

Ham is an iconic meal to make for Easter dinner. It is also great for other celebrations too! This recipe uses a precooked ham and a simple glaze.

I love to make this simple recipe for Easter dinner. It is extremely easy to prepare, allowing you to make some amazing side dishes as well. Another great thing about this recipe is the leftovers. Leftovers from this recipe are great to make ham and pea soup or other recipes such as ham and cheese quiche!

What Do I Need to Make Easy Glazed Easter Ham?

While the full recipe instructions are available below, here are some tips when putting your ingredients together for this delicious holiday meal!

  • Ham: This recipe uses a 650g precooked ham. A simple smoked ham is the best option for this recipe, since it will complement the flavors in this recipe. I do not recommend using a honey flavored or black forest ham, since it will interfere with the flavors in the glaze.
  • Cloves: To add to the flavors in the meal, I recommend adding whole cloves to your ham. It is great, because it will add a ton of flavor to your meal. Simply insert the whole cloves into the outside of the ham. Make sure you remove them once the ham is finished cooking. This is important, because the cloves have a hard, woody texture that is not pleasant to bite into.
  • Glaze: This glaze is very easy to make. It consists of brown sugar, mustard, and a splash of white vinegar.

How to Cook a Precooked Ham

It is extremely easy to cook a precooked ham. Simply preheat your oven, insert the cloves into your ham and place it in a small baking dish with a half cup of water. Cook for forty-five minutes. While the ham is cooking, put your glaze together. Add one tablespoon of brown sugar to a small bowl. Next, add a little bit of mustard at a time and mix it together until the sugar starts to dissolve. Finally, add a small splash of vinegar and stir it into the glaze. Once the ham has cooked for forty-five minutes, pour the glaze over the ham. Put it back into the oven and cook for another thirty minutes.

Once the ham has finished cooking, let it sit for ten minutes before removing the cloves and carving the meat. Serve it with your favorite sides and enjoy!
